Fertility & Preconception
Your preconception care starts before the positive test.
Whether you're thinking about trying soon, have already started, or want to better understand your reproductive health, Floura takes a personalised approach to preparing for pregnancy.
We look at the bigger picture - your cycle, nutritional status, health history and, where relevant, both partners.

Feel heard. Get answers. Have a plan.
Women’s health care that investigates the why - not just the symptom.
Thinking about trying? Start here.
You don't need to wait until you're struggling to conceive to think about fertility.
Preconception gives us an opportunity to look at your health before pregnancy - whether you're planning ahead, actively trying, preparing for assisted reproduction or simply want to understand where things stand.
At Floura, we consider:
Your cycle.
Ovulation.
Your health history.
Nutrition + nutrient status.
Existing pathology.
And where relevant, your partner's reproductive health too.
Because fertility isn't just about the month you start trying.
The Floura Approach
So, what actually happens when you book?
There’s no single preconception checklist that suits everyone. Some clients come to us months before trying. Others are already trying to conceive or preparing for fertility treatment. We start with where you are now.
↓
01 — WE START WITH YOUR STORY
We’ll take a detailed look at your menstrual cycle, health history, nutrition, medications and supplements, previous pregnancies where relevant, existing pathology and your plans for conception.
If you’re attending as a couple, we’ll also consider your partner’s health and reproductive history where appropriate.
↓
02 — WE DECIDE WHAT’S WORTH INVESTIGATING
You don’t automatically need every fertility test available.
We’ll review any results you already have and consider whether further investigation may provide useful information based on your individual circumstances.
This might include reproductive hormones, ovulation-related testing, thyroid function, nutrient status or semen analysis where appropriate.
↓
03 — YOUR PERSONALISED PRECONCEPTION PLAN BEGINS
Your plan is built around what you need before conception.
Depending on your presentation, this may include nutrition and lifestyle strategies alongside practitioner-prescribed supplementation or herbal medicine where appropriate.
↓
04 — WE REVIEW + REFINE
Preconception health isn’t static.
We’ll review your progress, any new pathology and changes to your cycle or circumstances, then adjust your plan as needed as you move closer to conception.
THERE’S NO ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL FERTILITY PROTOCOL AT FLOURA.
Your preconception care should reflect your body, your history and where you are in the journey.
Testing we utilise in clinic
-
Depending on your presentation, reproductive hormones such as oestradiol, progesterone, LH and FSH may be considered to provide information about aspects of your menstrual cycle and reproductive health.
Timing matters, so where relevant we'll guide you on when testing may be most useful within your cycle.
-
Understanding whether and when ovulation is occurring can form an important part of preconception care.
Depending on your circumstances, this may involve reviewing your cycle history and signs of ovulation alongside appropriately timed pathology where indicated.
-
Thyroid health is an important consideration before and during pregnancy.
Depending on your history and existing results, thyroid markers may be reviewed or further investigation recommended where appropriate.
-
Preconception provides an opportunity to assess nutritional status and identify areas that may warrant attention before pregnancy.
Depending on your individual circumstances, this may include iron studies, B12, folate, vitamin D and other relevant general pathology.
-
Where clinically appropriate, glucose, HbA1c and insulin-related markers may be considered as part of the broader picture - particularly where there are relevant symptoms, health history or PCOS.
-
Because fertility isn't solely a female consideration.
Where appropriate, semen analysis can provide information about factors including sperm concentration, motility and morphology and may form part of a couple's broader fertility assessment.
Fertility takes two.
Preconception care shouldn't automatically start and end with her.
Male factors contribute to a substantial proportion of fertility difficulties, which is why, where appropriate, we consider both partners when looking at preconception health.
For men, that may mean looking at:
Semen analysis.
Nutrition + nutrient status.
Lifestyle factors.
Health history.
Previous results.
Two people. One preconception plan.
Some of our beautiful clients…
“I came away from my appointment feeling so much clearer.”
I’d had blood tests before but never really understood what any of them meant. Having Abbey go through my history, symptoms and results together made such a difference.
Georgia L.“I wish I had done this years ago.”
I thought my PMS and painful periods were just something I had to deal with every month. I felt completely heard and never rushed or dismissed.
Maddison T.“For the first time, I actually felt like someone was looking at the whole picture.”
I’d been dealing with irregular periods and fatigue for years. I loved that my symptoms weren’t looked at separately - Gabby explained everything so clearly and I finally felt like I had a plan.
