Gut Health
Your gut shouldn’t dictate your day.
Bloating by afternoon? Unpredictable bowels? Constantly wondering which food is going to set you off?
At Floura, we look beyond the symptom to understand what may be contributing to your digestive concerns - without automatically handing you another list of foods to avoid.

Feel heard. Get answers. Have a plan.
Women’s health care that investigates the why - not just the symptom.
The Floura Approach
So, what actually happens when you book?
01 — WE START WITH YOUR STORY
Your first consultation is about understanding the full picture. We’ll talk through your cycle, symptoms, health history, medications, nutrition, lifestyle and what you actually want help with.
Already had blood tests? Bring them. They may give us a useful place to start.
↓
02 — WE DECIDE WHAT’S WORTH INVESTIGATING
Not everyone needs more testing. We’ll review what you already have and, where appropriate, identify whether further investigation could help us better understand what’s going on.
This might include hormone, thyroid, metabolic or nutrient markers depending on your individual presentation.
↓
03 — YOUR PERSONALISED PLAN BEGINS
You don’t necessarily have to wait for every answer before getting started. Where appropriate, we’ll establish your initial plan based on what we know so far.
Your recommendations may include nutrition, lifestyle strategies and practitioner-prescribed supplementation or herbal medicine.
↓
04 — WE REVIEW, CONNECT THE DOTS + REFINE
At your follow-up, we look at what’s changed, review any new results and bring the pieces together.
Your plan evolves with you — recommendations may be adjusted as we learn more about your body and how you’re responding.
There’s no standard “hormone protocol” at Floura.
Two women can arrive with the same symptom and leave with very different plans. That’s the point.
Testing we utilise in clinic
-
Where appropriate, comprehensive stool testing may provide information about aspects of the gastrointestinal environment, including digestive markers and microorganisms identified within the sample.
Whether this testing is useful depends on your symptoms, history and what we're specifically trying to investigate.
-
Conventional stool testing may be appropriate in certain presentations to investigate gastrointestinal infection, inflammation or other causes of persistent bowel symptoms.
Where necessary, we'll recommend appropriate medical investigation or referral.
-
Coeliac disease can present with gastrointestinal symptoms such as bloating, diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort, as well as symptoms outside the gut.
Where appropriate, coeliac serology may form part of the investigation.
Importantly, testing generally needs to occur while you're still consuming gluten.
-
Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a bacterium that can infect the stomach and may be investigated in certain upper gastrointestinal presentations.
Testing may be considered based on your symptoms, medical history and previous investigations.
-
Where symptoms warrant further investigation, markers such as faecal calprotectin and/or relevant blood pathology may be considered to assess for signs of inflammation and determine whether medical referral is appropriate.
-
Digestive health and nutritional status can overlap.
Depending on your presentation, we may review markers such as full blood count, iron studies, B12, folate and vitamin D alongside other relevant pathology.
Some of our beautiful clients…
“I came away from my appointment feeling so much clearer.”
I’d had blood tests before but never really understood what any of them meant. Having Abbey go through my history, symptoms and results together made such a difference.
Georgia L.“I wish I had done this years ago.”
I thought my PMS and painful periods were just something I had to deal with every month. I felt completely heard and never rushed or dismissed.
Maddison T.“For the first time, I actually felt like someone was looking at the whole picture.”
I’d been dealing with irregular periods and fatigue for years. I loved that my symptoms weren’t looked at separately - Gabby explained everything so clearly and I finally felt like I had a plan.
