Vaginal Health
Your vaginal health deserves more than another temporary fix.
Recurring thrush, BV, UTIs, irritation or changes that just don’t feel right? We look beyond the immediate symptom to understand what may be contributing - and why it keeps coming back.

The Floura Approach
So, what actually happens when you book?
No two vaginal health presentations are the same. Even when the symptoms look similar, what’s contributing to them may be very different.
At Floura, we start by understanding what's been happening, what you've already tried and whether there are patterns that might give us clues about where to look next.
↓
01 — WE START WITH YOUR STORY
Your first consultation gives us the full picture. We'll talk about your symptoms, when they started, how often they occur, your menstrual cycle, sexual health, contraception, medications, previous treatments, gut health and anything else that may be relevant.
Had swabs, urine tests or other pathology before? Bring your results with you.
↓
02 — WE DECIDE WHAT’S WORTH INVESTIGATING
Not everyone needs testing - and not everyone needs the same testing.
We'll review what you already have and determine whether further investigation may help us better understand what's happening.
Depending on your presentation, this could involve vaginal microbiome testing, vaginal swabs, urine testing or relevant blood pathology.
↓
03 — YOUR PERSONALISED PLAN BEGINS
Once we understand the picture so far, we'll develop an individualised plan based on your symptoms, history and goals.
This may include nutrition and lifestyle strategies alongside practitioner-prescribed supplementation or herbal medicine where appropriate.
↓
04 — WE REVIEW, CONNECT THE DOTS + REFINE
At your follow-up, we'll look at what's changed, review any new results and adjust your plan accordingly.
For recurrent concerns, this is particularly important - we're interested not only in what happens during a flare, but what happens between them.
There’s no standard “vaginal health protocol” at Floura.
Two women can arrive with the same symptoms and need completely different approaches.
Testing we utilise in clinic
-
Provides information about the microorganisms present within the vaginal environment and may help us better understand patterns of vaginal dysbiosis in appropriate presentations.
This can be particularly useful when investigating recurrent or persistent vaginal symptoms.
-
Depending on your symptoms and previous investigations, vaginal swabs and conventional pathology may form part of the investigation.
These can help identify certain infections or organisms that may be relevant to your symptoms and guide appropriate referral or management where needed.
-
For urinary symptoms or recurrent UTIs, urine testing and culture may be useful to investigate whether bacteria are present and provide information about the organisms identified.
Where appropriate, we'll also consider the pattern and timing of recurrent urinary symptoms rather than viewing each episode in isolation.
-
Some vaginal or urinary symptoms can overlap with sexually transmitted infections.
Where clinically appropriate, STI screening may be recommended or existing results reviewed as part of ensuring important causes of symptoms have been appropriately investigated.
-
Vaginal health doesn't exist separately from hormonal health.
Where symptoms appear to change throughout the menstrual cycle or there are other signs of hormonal changes, relevant hormone investigations may be considered based on your individual presentation.
-
Depending on your broader health picture, we may also review or recommend relevant general pathology.
Rather than ordering a standard panel for every client, testing is selected according to your symptoms, history and what we're actually trying to understand.
Thrush. Treat. Repeat?
If you've found yourself treating the same symptoms over and over again, you're not alone.
Recurring vaginal symptoms can be frustrating - especially when treatment seems to work, only for everything to return.
At Floura, we're interested in the pattern.
When does it happen?
Does it change around your cycle?
What have you already tried?
What do your previous results show?
Because recurrence tells us something, too.
